TCS to recruit over 30000
K.Ganesan, vice President, Tata consultancy services, said that the company was planning to recruit more thatn 30000 personnel across the world in 2007-2008 and over 20000 through campus interviews. The company had recruited nearly 30,000 personnel and 12,000 through campus interviews, he said.
Ganesan said about 8000 employees were from outside India and they had proposed to increase further. He said that apart form technical skills, the students should have, problemsolving capacity, good values, objective thinking and social responsibility. A consistent academic record from class 10 and effective communication skills was necessary, he added.
He said that team work and personal attributes like capability to adapt oneself in worksplace were very important for the students. He also said that the students should have the ability to learn and comply with rules would stand good chances for employability. He said that the expectations of the company were great and hence the recruits should be strong in foundation.
Ganesan said that TCS was giving regular training to its employees, including training in appointment for a period of 72 hours by investing two to three percent of its revenue. He said that the company was spending around 2.9 billion dollars for training the purpose annually. Ganeshan said that there would be no restrictions on recruitment as they had not come out with a fixed number in selection.
He assured that every deserving candidate would get job. He said that the students should not get disappointed if they did not succeed in the first attempt.
S.Kuppusamy, Vice-Chancellor of the Pondichery University urged the students to be loyal to the company by not switching jobs for higher pay packages, at least for a period of three to four years. Mr.Ganesan said that commitment to the company was also of great value and would give them the opportunity to learn and gain experience.
