Ramadoss demands I-T raids on deemed universities

S.Ramadoss, founder of PMK demanded I-T raids on the premises of all self-financing colleges and deemed universities. He said that the action had come rather late in the day and that the owners of self-finincing colleges and deemed universities must be brought under examination.

The PMK leader has been campaigning for greater state control of self financing institutions and deemed universities which have commercialised higher education.

The PMK leader urged the Tamil Nadu Government to encourage the production of electric bikes by small and medium enterprises. He said that the government must give permission to young engineers who were intrested in largescale production of battery motorcycles.

He explained the uses of electric bikes which were operated by batteries. He said that the electric bikes were not only used to conserve fossil fuel but also to protect the environment.

This battery motorcycle could run up to 60 km a day at a cost of just 6 paise per km. The fuel cost for electric bikes is less than one-third the cost of gasoline power, he said.

Seperate lanes for bicycles were also suggested by him to ensure safe ride of the students. Ramadoss stated about the transfer of Justice Sathasivam of Madras High Court to Punjab. He said that there would not be a judge from Tamil Nadu in the panel for appointment of new judges to the High court. He strongly blammed the sale of ganja near schools and said that those responsible for this should not be pardoned.
