February 5, A letter bomb exploded at the head quarters of a company in Central London. The company controls the British Capital’s traffic congestion. the company also processes the payment of television licenses.

A woman has been injured with minor hand injuries by the package explosive weapon. The letter bomb exploded at the Capita Commercial Services, a company that controls the daily charge meant to cut down on traffic in central London and also collecs television licensing fees. This company also handles mediation and insurance for the Criminal Records Bureau, and work for the department of trade and industry and the department of work and pensions.

Police Chief superintendent Ian Thomas said that one women was injured by the letter bomb and taken to a local hospital where she was being assessed but they think that the injuries were fairly minor.

A woman who works at a nearby hair salon said that they did not hear the bomb explotion, but there were a lot of ambulances and the fire brigade. She said the injured woman was crying, had a bandage on her arm.

The police said that the target was a business. Capita was near the Scotland Yard police headquarters and several other government offices. Capita was formed in 1984 and has more than 26,000 staff in the UK, the Channel Islands, Ireland and India. The Irish Republican Army pioneered the use of letter bombs as a terror tactic in the early 1970s.

Police said a small package explosive weapon or a letter bomb had exploded at the office which was not far from the Scotland Yard Police headquarters. The police sources said that the key for them was to find out who the letter of package was addressed to.
