AN ALLIANCE FOR CHIPS

IBM, Toshiba, AMD, Samsung, Infineon, Chartered and Freescale are the Seven top companies of the world which has joined hands to create nano-sized chips. These tiny chips can hold even up to one billion transisters which would increase processing power tremendously.They will be built using the vaunted 32-nanometre tecnology.

As the production of such chips is a costly business ,the seven companies are planning to work together for three years to produce the chips. However, Intel, the World’s biggest chipmaker, has not shown any interest in joining the team.
