TCS support Roche’s global capacity-building initiative

IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Roche, a leading healthcare group announced a partnership that would advance the latter’s global capacity building initiative. The initiative between the two companies will provide services to a number of areas in Roche’s development organisation, including clinical data management, clinical programming, biostatics and drug safety support.

A release said that the aim of the collaboration between TCS and Roche was to create a flexible, scalable and high-quality partnership to support the demands of Roche’s increasing drug pipeline. Roche is currently one of the world’s top research-focused healthcare groups in the field of pharmaceuticals and diagnostics.

It’s global capacity building initiative, located in Mumbai, consists of a team of highly qualified pharmacologists, physicians, bio-statisticians, pharmacists and informatics specialists. The partnership will help Roche leverage the extensive talent pool in India, maximise synergies and gain ongoing cost and progress improvements, while maintaining high quality and service levels.

J.Rajagopal, Tata Consultancy Services Executive Vice President and Global Head - Life Sciences and Healthcare, said that the global capacity building initiative with Roche was another validation of TCS’s strategy to focus on services supporting the drug development processes and investments made in building their domain competencies in that area.

Tata Consultancy Services is also set to accelerate its drive into the IT consultancy market with the launch of a new services programme designed to help firms optimise their entire IT ecosystem.
