JSoft sets 100-seater BPO in Bellary

JSoft solutions, the newly formed software arm of JSW steel, has set up a 100-seater BPO which is going to tap local talent in Karnataka’s Bellary region. JSoft solutions is an independent company that can provide technical and logistics support to BPOs. Currently catering to the in-house needs of$6 billion JSW steel, it will be hived off as a standalone vertical outfit catering to different manufacturing companies.

Launching the Bellary BPO, Karnataka home and law minister MP Prakash said the government has plans to set up an earth station at Bellary to give a boost to IT industry in the region and convert it into a technical hub.

JSoft solution is expected to grow the centre into a 300-seater BPO with a capacity of 900 people by January. It will be scaled up to a 1000-seater operation capable of providing round-the-clock jobs to 9000 rural youth, according to JSW steel vice-chairman and MD Sajjan Jindal.

Similar centres are proposed to be set up at Hospet, Hubli, Raichur and other Tier-III cities and taluks of Karnataka. JSW Steel has drivers interests in mining, carbon steel, power, industrial gases and ports. The company’s unit - set-up in 1994 at Toranagallu in Bellary is engaged in manufacturing flat products like HR coils, CR coils, galvanised products and automobile grade/white good grade CRCA steel.
